Hobby Artist NO MORE!

Your Transformation Awaits...

Hey Creative Peep!

Pssst... Guess what?

If you are REALLY ready to go from Hobby Artist to Professional Artist, I have a few tips for you.

And I am sorry to say that this is going to require work on your part.

But not the kind of work that you might be thinking.

It will require a rewiring of your brain and a digging deep within yourself. Soul Work really.

Because becoming an artist is actually a calling. Especially if you are ready to level up your skills, make the art of your dreams, and pursue those big, bold creative dreams of yours. You know those dreams that scare you a little bit?

Launch a sold out collection of art. Have a solo art show. Teach an in person art workshop. Whatever your big creative dream, the biggest work you will do is on your mindset.

Don't believe me that it's actually possible to start living the creative life of your dreams?

I recently interviewed one of my Masterpiece Makers, Alison Speerbrecker, inside of my Creative Art Retreat, Cultivate.

You can go watch the interview here.

Alison LITERALLY started painting one year ago! And she is a force to watch. She is participating in art shows at coffee shops and galleries. She has opened an Etsy shop. And her books are full in terms of commissions.

Personally, I think the secret to her success is her mindset. Because when we really focus on our thoughts and views towards creativity, then everything else will eventually fall into place.

In fact, I think that the quickest way to go from a person who makes art for enjoyment from time to time, to professional artist, is to really do the deep inner work on yourself and your mindset.

Alison is an example of that.

Three of the top take-aways from this interview:

  1. Being an artist is a calling.
  2. Become your own biggest cheerleader.
  3. Everything is figure-out-able. (Marie Forleo quote.)

My other favorite tidbit from this interview was how Alison started selling her art. It involves her neighbor's pets. But you will just have to go watch it to find out why!

I highly recommend this interview. (In order to watch the interview, you will need to register for Cultivate first, if you aren't already.)

Happy Painting,

Wendy Brightbill

And What to Do About It... Hey There Artist, Have you ever felt like there MUST be something wrong with you because you seem to burn out quicker than most people? You start a challenge, launch a course or even plan out your collection and find yourself burning out on the task before you ever reach the finish line. What is wrong with me? Why can't I finish it? Or you make the art and have no energy left for marketing it? This is a common problem that I see happening for so many artists. And...

Here's WHY. Hello Creative Peep, After talking to a multitude of artists over the last decade, I have learned how to listen. And this idea that creativity is frivolous seems to be a common theme or struggle. As creative souls, I know that we perceive the world differently than most people. We tend to be highly sensitive people who can find it difficult to cope with the world around us (AT TIMES). It's hard to make space for creativity when all of the necessities are screaming for our...

Here is WHY! Hello Creative Peep, Last Friday night was my favorite Art Show EVER! It wasn't because sales were through the roof. Although, I did sell 6 paintings. No, the success that I felt was internal. It was different than any other art show that I have EVER had. I feel like I am still on an emotional high from it. Sigh! If only I could bottle it up and give you some. You see, I have had plenty of art shows. Some of them major flops! Let's just face it. Art Shows CAN BE a LOT of work....
