The World NEEDS Your Art!

Mindset Shift...

Welcome Creative Peep!

Have you ever just thought...

Why am I doing this?

Does my art actually make a difference?

Who am I to think that my art is changing anything?

My art making seems so frivolous, what value is there in making art?

Maybe I should just stop making or sharing my art?

I want you to know that you are NOT ALONE in these thoughts.

WE ALL have these thoughts from time to time.

And it's really so hard in the beginning stages of your art career to not feel these things.

This is why it's so important to have a deeper understanding of your WHY in your art practice and business.

Because when all of these thoughts come, and they will, you have a firm foundation to stand upon.

Your WHY is the underlying motivation that keeps you going. It's the unseen force that keeps you creating and making art. It's why you choose to continue to make art and release it into the world.

Here is my WHY...

I make art because I have experienced the healing power of beauty in my life. I make art as a reminder to myself and others that beauty can transform the hard and difficult things. God gives beauty for ashes.

When I need a reminder of my WHY, then I can always return back to this. So when I am having a difficult time in my business or my art making, I can go back to my why.

Your WHY is something deeply personal. So I cannot define it for you. It has to belong to you.

All I know for certain is that THE WORLD DEEPLY NEEDS YOUR ART!!!

I believe that art has the power to change hearts, lift spirits, bring life and healing to the world.

There is something that only you can say through your art.

So KEEP GOING!

Make Cringe-Worthy ART! Hello There Creative Peep, Blank Canvas Syndrome is when you have an irrational fear of starting a new painting and you feel like the blank canvas is staring you down. Been there? It's a real condition. But I just made up the term for it. If you struggle with getting started or you have a fear of making bad art, you are NOT ALONE in this. This is very common among artists. And for THIS reason, I often tell artists that it's so important to have an informal practice...

My Story Hello There Creative Peep, When do you know that it's time to make a creative shift? When you have exhausted everything that there is to say about something. This might show up through a feeling of not being satisfied with your work or just pure boredom. You lose the joy for the process of painting. You should be on fire to jump out of bed in the mornings to get back into your studio in order to paint! So what would make you excited to paint again? Maybe you need a change of scenery?...

Indication Signs/ Symptoms Hello Creative Peep, Something that I have learned from working with over 8,500 artists is that we don't ALWAYS know when we are stuck. But I can tell you that when I am in a state of creative flow, everything just falls into place. Creating is effortless. I am inspired but not to the point of overwhelm. I have a focus in my art. Sharing and selling is a delight and not a chore. I don't have to try too hard. I am obsessed about the work that I am making, to the...
